Let’s hope May brings more sunshine after Chicago’s rainiest spring on record. At least the city looks beautiful in full bloom!
May marks the start of the season for events and festivals, with highlights like Maifest in Lincoln Square and the opening of outdoor farmers’ markets across many Chicago neighborhoods. The lakefront is becoming increasingly popular for walking and biking by both locals & visitors alike.
It is a great month to enjoy patio dining and take advantage of the city’s cultural scene before the summer crowds arrive. Locals know that it doesn’t really get & warm until July in Chicago, so bringing layers is a good idea.
Note that the events listed here, without dates, run through May and some extend beyond. Check back often, as I keep adding to this list.
